Had the wonderful sound of merlins reverberating over the upper harbour this afternoon, over Whenuapai, unfortuneately only saw them from a distance from Beachhaven displaying over the airfield, anyone get down there today? 2 spits and the mustang I believe...

Would have been the 485 Squadron reunion, yes?

We went to the open day at North Shore - and were pleasantly surprised to see flypasts by the Mustang, Doug Brooker's Spit and the Warbirds DC-3. All of them cruised off to Whenuapai (but we weren't told *why*). The reunion could certainly explain that!

The Open Day itself was a great success. For the grand total of $2 to park the car, we were treated to almost a full day of flying. Some aerobatics, some flypasts and some scheduled flights (the Trislander). The organisation was *superb*.

I didn't see one - but then I was in the bar for a bit laugh.gif.

There was a reunion at Whenuapai - it could have gone down for that.
