If I was a marketing man I'd have you signed up for a "coffee table" book - enthusiasts from all over the world would want one.
Missed this post, but watch this space.Last edited by Gavin Conroy on Wed Mar 16, 2011 8:02 pm, edited 1 time in total.Cheers Gavin:

If I were in your place, I don't think I could bear to see that sight through a viewfinder - just too gorgeous!!
Tech question now ... what sort of shutter speed were you using? The aircraft always seem to be crisp - and plenty of depth of field ... yet the prop is [nicely] blurred. At air shows, I can't even get the plane in the frame, let alone get it in focus!
Shutter speed will be anywhere between 1/80 and 1/200, sometimes 1/250 if it is quite bumpy.
The aeroplanes are travelling at a relative speed which makes things a bit easier, on the ground the panning is what produces the good photo normally.
Air to air adds a lot of other factors, giving hand signals, talking on the radio, slip stream, turbulence, G, sun position, subject position, directing camera ship pilot, and time pressure when flying with the big bangers all takes the time away from actually being able to push the button so a lot of things need to go right. Flying with the best people in both subject and camera ship makes things a lot easier.
Could go on all day but have to go and get ready to head to Ardmore for the Wings And Wheels day, but only going for the wings.![]()
A few from the Tauranga show.
Sean flies this aeroplane better everytime I see him fly, his display is very smooth indeed.Cheers Gavin:
