REX cant make a hurricane....but he didn't do to bad here.........

Dont mean to reply to my own post....but i think the term "hurricane hunters" refers to the USAF guys who do the same work , but in C-130's. These guys (screenshot) are civi...and from the NOAA...sorry ,i cant find a WC-130 model.

I'm really not a great fan of Auckland, but one of the pleasures of being on the N. Shore is that I get to see a lot of the Whenuapai aircraft a lot. I'll never tire of the Herc, but the Orions and 757 are a real treat as well.

My plan is that the base gets shared with some aircraft restoration companies so I get to see Mosquitos, Spits ... [sigh] ...

Marty , another type that chased Hurricanes were the Lockheed Constellation , what is it with Lockheed and stormy weather , point is do you recall a TV1 , well back then that all there was , One channel , on the Connie chasing the 1968/69 Hurri off the southern coast of the USA

Ian, i dont remember the doco.....but i have seen pics of the weather connies.....what a hell of a job.
