My! hasn't siming come along way.

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby morrisman1 » Wed Apr 20, 2011 10:55 am

Not long ago a friend dragged out an old apple 2 i think it is, had flight simulator version 4 on it. it was even colour! at 2 fps it was awfully hard to do anything and i succeeded in crashing most of the time. We have come a long way, well maybe not far on the FPS front but simulations like the PMDG aircraft are incredible for a home simulation and are something you would expect out of something certified!

One thing they all have in common is that they're all like flying on rails.

It's funny how we remember games gone by as looking better graphically than they really are (or maybe thats just me).

I spent some time mucking around with Chuck Yeager's Air Combat and Microprose's F-117 but I spent many more hours flying my F-16 around the Middle East blowing up ground targets and shooting Migs...
