Overcast and looking like could get some misty lite showers later here at Omaka but planes still flying mustang having a few engine problems and the FW 190 stuffed its prop up so probably wont be flying

Yep the FW 190 is on view to the public.
Some old geriatrics with Deane sitting back resting after lunch added Nick and as you can see he is like Deane not a geriatric like the rest of us.

Great day gents, pity I was unable to catch up with you all, thought I might have bumped into you Ian! Unfortunately I am tied down with family commitments in Picton tonight, and have to head back to the shake zone for ANZAC commitments tomorrow avo. Speaking of which, for those of you who are that way inclined, and from Chch, a bit of a plug, my recommendation is the 19th Bn Memorial at Victoria park at 0800. Good alternative now that the CBD is off-limits. Hope the weather plays ball again tomorrow for those of you who are lucky enough for another day at the show smile.gif

Yep good day and great to meet some of the guys for the first time. I left at 8.30 pm and the stories were still flowing. Airshow was pretty good all things considered, needed a bit of Ag action I reckon. An Airtr k display would have been great !!

Sorry all left there for the Sunday, but I'm not going to make it there today. My Dad is my benefactor for the ride over and entry fee, and he's decided the weather isn't going to be good enough. Typical timing... it only rains about 2 days a year in Blenheim, and it has to be these two? Sigh.. sad.gif

Rain, earthquake (See the news says a 4.3 quake in Marlborough region last night)...these are not good enough reasons to skip the airshow - unless the Mossie doesn't make it.
I'm still camped out at Ardmore waiting for the sound of twin Merlins, nothing as yet.

What a great group photo...my vote is it goes on the May NZFF masthead, and the monthly prize goes to the best caption!
My entry: Deane just told everyone that the internet is down, and the only connection is at the Post Shop, dial-up.
Marty as we know, fled the scene...

Are you implying that the mossie will fly today? As far as I know the Mossies is still quite a way to being finished and I would not even think it would be ready for engine runs etc. So there is no way I can see it will be making the airshow !!

No, I was referring to an earlier post when it seemed possible the Mossie might be done in time for Omaka.
Haven't seen much information forthcoming on that project, I thought one might have to camp on the Ardmore approach to know for sure.
