I was there for the Saturday. Really enjoyed it, and even took a few snaps myself.

These are only hand held point and shoot quality, but if you'd like to see more, the rest can be viewed on my blog at Classic Fighters Airshow - Part 1 and Classic Fighters Airshow - Part 2

Love the shots from other members in this thread who had better camera equipment! clapping.gif

Cheers Ian- was stuck in the que for a Bacon and Avo roll at the time I got the text from Deane, had already been in it for about 10 mins at that point so thought I might as well commit.
Hope the BBQ/Beers went well that night!

Wish I could of gotten some better pictures though, but not bad for my first time I guess.

Will be a while until I can post any A2A but here is one from a media flight on the Thursday before the show, but one of the Checkers was ill so the team could not display.
The other shows Graham at 1/125 during his first pass.

Here is a take off shot from a flight we conducted on the Wednesday before the show for TV3.
Very colourful background.

Rolling around the Red Checkers.
One of the pilots was quite ill so the team could not fly at Classic Fighters 2011 which was a shame.

Was tight for time but I shot up to Ardmore on the Thursday before the show to fly with the Tomahawk.
It is such a stunning aircraft and am quite pleased with the photos from the flight, especially the near head on ones smile.gif

I can see how those 3 months of planning pay off! I am really looking forward to getting the air show DVD, should be some amazing footage on it!
New Zealand is a great place to be, you don't really get the air shows overseas and you get here, very unique!
How did you get that shot of the checkers? Were you inverted in the other air trainer or something?

The Checkers photo was taken from another CT4E during a barrel roll around the main formation.

Excellent shots Gavin. Because of my interest in photography I was planning to try and look you up during the show but somehow with all that was happening I didn't get around to it - besides I would guess that you were pretty busy with all you had to do. Anyway, it's good to be able to enjoy your work and re-experience some of the emotions of the event.
