Nice - turning jet fuel into noise !! Hate to think how many thousands of dollars of fuel I guzzled up running Strikemasters when I was in the RNZAF. Very easy jet to start and run.
Can't wait to see this in the air. Who owns it - anybody know?

from NZ Warbirds Assoc Inc Facebook:

If you have been hanging out to see the Strikemaster return to our skies, you will have to wait a little longer, unfortunately. Engine woes have necessitated the procurement of a new zero timed engine from the UK. Due to arrive next week, it is hoped to be up and running and ready for testing in the very near future. Owner, Brett Nicholls, is hopeful all will be completed in time for Classic Fighters at Easter.

Saw Brett today and he was reasonably confident that, weather permitting, it will be test flown at Ardmore next week, so maybe not as long to wait as we were expecting?

The Strikemaster took off from Ardmore at around lunch time today, so that would have been what you saw. smile.gif

Last display I viewed when in the RNZAF was at 1994 Wanaka , being air force he displayed damn near like he lost the airfield , I would have loved to see it go through its routine at Omaka , $3000 an hour , now that would be worth it for a ride cool.gif

Another Strikemaster has been registered, this one to a Christchurch address:

The A37 was at Ardmore a week or so ago on maintenance, not sure if its still there or not.
