First screenshot from the new computer set up biggrin.gif . If anybody is hesitating about the new i7 chips, then do not. Smooth as at 4.2 GHz and I am sure that I can push it much further (on air) as the temperatures and stability is fine. Finally FSX has got it's own gaming computer. Anyway, here is the first screenshot:-

smooth landings.

yep, got an i7 2500K (supposed to be the better chip for gaming), MSI 560TI Twin Frozr graphics card, 120 GB SSD, 8GB Corsair Vengance RAM 1600 and a MSI G55 motherboard, with Windows 7 64 bit. Overclocking is a breeze, set up is easy and it is SO fast at loading. And temperatures well below limits. My only regret is that I did not purchase one of the power units that lets you plug in cables as you need them, the Corsair unit that I have came with about 15 leads, so looks something like an octupus inside the case.

At the moment, I have almost all the sliders on max, although I have yet to test it with some really heavy clouds. Next upgrade will be to Nvidia 3D, although I have to read up a bit more first.

so the advice is, do not hesitate, go for the I7 2500K chip!!

smooth landings.

Yep i'm jealos. i upgraded at the wrong time with the 1st gen of i7 chips. Having my i7 870 running at 3.8ghz with temps getting up there only to see the 2600K pull that speed with just the intel Turbo Boost 2 enabled makes me cry. I'm seriously thinking of upgrading while my hardware is still worth some money.
