Nice pics, ta for sharing. Hey, where are they parked up, Woodbourne? Didnt know there was still a 727 left around in one piece. Wonder what the longer term plans are for that?

Dean , 727 thinking the same thing , long career but is it still there ,maybe another one for the Wigram Museum , ....... Matt , on another thought not pointed out .. if they could not sell them due to their "Top Secret" stuff on/in them are they required to have a 24 hr guard on them ninja.gif once they get to the museums !

The 727 will most likely be cut up. The foward fuse and cockpit will surely go to the Wigram museum.

Lets hope so , be a great display open to the public if they did . We would have people here flying CS727s for months on end !

That 727 isn't exactly in one peice either. The number 2 engine and most of the tail has been chopped off. It's in a sad state really, the inside has many panels pulled out as well. So the AirMech students can study its systems.

(If thats the one at Woodbourne, which used to sit between hangars 4 and 5).

I'm well aware of that. I helped take the tail off. It was the only way we could get the aircraft in the hangar and having it in the hangar was the only way to justify getting the 727. Despite whats happened at least we still have the aircraft, of which parts can still go to the museum. Sure it would have been nice to have kept the tail, but it was never ever going to be able to be flown again anyway.
