Acceleration pack cannot instal

I have FSX installed on the x86 D drive of my 64 bit XP as this is I was told is the 32 bit drive on my computer. It works very well, but when I tried to install the Acceleration pack it said I had to install FSX first, so I guess it cannot find the FSX I have installed on D drive. There is nowhere to alter the target drive in the Acceleration install. Anyone have any ideas?

I have my FSX on another partition to my windows and it loaded acceleration without any problem.

After reading a lot about where to install FSX before a recent reinstall (took about 2 weeks with all the
add ons) I went with the suggestion to install it in my C drive in its own folder and not in any program files
folder and it works perfectly. If you go in this direction the only thing you will have to do is direct any applications to this
folder when installing any FSX software as it is not the default path. Apparently this overcomes windows usual overprotection of
any files in program filesX86,X64 files. Makes installations easier and more reliable.
This works for me as I only have 1 drive at the mo (until I can afford a decent size SSD) then I will be installing FSX on this dedicated FSX
drive.

I run a 64bit system with a 3.2Mhz quad core cpu and 8gb of RAM. I've installed FSX and acceleration on my C Drive in the Program Files (x86) where it was automatically installed by FSX setup. I've had no issues with FSX and Acceleration so my first question would be do you have FSX SP 1 and / or FSX SP2 installed? If you do that may be why you can't install Acceleration. If that is the case uninstall both FSX SP1 and FSX SP2 then install Acceleration. Hope this helps.
