You are are XP man so that,s all the RAM you need , for the earlier system , an upgrade with your Graphic Card to least 1GB , they are very reasonable today , I d,out you will find a CPU these day to fit on the old Mother Board .

Sad to say, but the solution may be a new computer/motherboard/processor. I struggled on for too long trying to push a computer that was just not up to the job of running FSX, but in the end, the real solution was a complete new computer. I realise now that I spent FAR too much time adjusting/readjusting/adjusting again trying to get FSX to run smoothly, but the bottom line was that the computer was just not up to it. When you do upgrade, you will just not believe the difference that a processor that runs at 4.2 or 4.5 GHz will make (coupled with a decent graphics card). The good news is that the prices are falling all the time, so you may find something like the i7 2500K processor (which I am very happy with) for a good price. It may seem hard now to have to upgrade and spend a lot of money for a new computer set up, but the end result is that you will enjoy FSX (and other demanding programs like Photoshop) a LOT more on newer computer. You will spend lot less time adjusting, and a lot more time flying.

Smooth landings.

I scored a second hand 2month old P67 Gigabyte mobo last week so I have now in my hand a new i5 2500K. Have just finished installing it all into a new case which I was forced into buying to fit my Corsair Hydro 60 cooler into. Just in the middle of backing all my stuff up and reformatting my FSX drive.. unsure.gif which will now be installed onto a velociraptor 10,000rpm drive. I am starting to get excited. I love building new pc's and seeing it all come together.

When you say that you have got an OLD P67 motherboard, does it have the B3 stepping in it (should have a reference on the box/manual to B3 ???? There were problems with the chipsets when they first came out (forced me to wait for the fix to be issued) and I had to return my original motherboard as it was one of the original ones WITHOUT the B3 modification.

So check to make sure that your board has the B3 mod, as there are potential problems with some of the SATA ports. Better to check this now rather than find out later,

smooth landings.

Don't bother upgrading that pc I'll just get a new pc.

Intel Core i7 2600K o/c 4-5Ghz, 2x SSD, 1TB HDD, Nvidia GTX500 series, 4 or 8GB Ram with 6 or 7 timing, a good motherboard (ASUS, Gigabyte etc), decent aircooler (heatsink) and a good case with alot of airflow (HAF) and FSX will be flying, if you have alot of cash. biggrin.gif tongue.gif
