That SU-27 's fairly old plane now tho. It didnt evan have thrust vectoring.

Different topic but sticking with the low flying theem - A little red bull air racing. Now I know we have all seen it a hundred times so far, but this clip gives a perspective I havnt seen before showing actually how bludy difficult this air racing is. Take a look.

Probably right Ian. I know some real clever englishmen (and yanks for that mater) but my pommy brother in Law has got to be the most stupid and eratic man I ever met.

I also wondered - way after having watched it ... how certain are we that the whole thing wasn't edited - where the answers could have been for totally different questions?

Its quite simple really - I'm sure you could go out on the streets of NZ and ask hundreds of people the same types of questions, just like these videos show, some people won't be very accurate at answering. Edit out all but the most stupid answers and what do you have - another DUMB country video !!

I know winkyy.gif. As a test - I ran a whole heap of questions past our step-daughter ... now 3rd year at Otago. She didn't know where Afghanistan was (thought it was in Africa) ... thought Iraq and Iran were the same country ... thought that Palestine exists and is a country somewhere near Israel ... and generally didn't think actually knowing the answers worthwhile. Considering we have troops in Afghanistan and a fair proportion of the current terrorist problem dates back to an ill thought out solution in 1948 (IMHO) ... I despair.

She not un-typical. Whilst many of these kids are fairly bright, they haven't got a clue about world events or current affairs in general. They're a pretty disinterested, apathetic generation, to be honest sad.gif

Many Kiwis often claim that it's NZ's [geographical] isolation that creates this myopic attitude, but with the Internet etc. that just doesn't wash. They're just not *interested*.

Arrrgh ... I didn't mean to moan quite *that* much laugh.gif

This one is a must!! Not often you see a wing fold in a modern aerobatic plane.
