Hi.
Have finally set up FSX and installed VLC.
Saw this screeny earlier and wanted to see if mine was any different. So here are my shots and settings at that time. Comments welcome.
First the controll.

Now mine from the approx position.

Now my settings.

Weather was set as clear skies and FPM locked at 25. Was showing between 8 and 14.
My current comp is rather old so am currently upgrading, see my post in the tech section.
All comments welcome.
Regards,
Adrian.

First, your 'control' isn't the best choice, as this doesn't include default textures. Plus I think that this is manipulated a bit. There are some other screenshots of 'default VLC' Queenstown about, I'll just need to find them...

Some basic minimum settings:

Global texture resolution should be a lot higher;
Mesh resolution should be at least 20 metres for VLC;
Pull the autogen back to Normal and see if that helps.
Does it help or hinder going to full-screen rather than windowed?

I agree with what Robin says . Autogen at normal is quite okay as (near as FS9 with autogen in high settings). Other scenery settings should be cranked up more , except for the water Keep that at low or medium as its a big FPS hit.

Also take off aircaft shadows on ground and reduce your airport vehicle traffic to zero or a lot less (can also be a FPS hit) Other traffic settings are ok.

Do you also have either Acceleration or SP1/2 installed as well?

I installed from an FSX gold pack. So hope have SP 1 and have acceleration installed.
Will try Robins settings later and see.
Thanks.
Adrian.

There are details on priority in the manual, but the landclass and DTM don't conflict with each other in any way, so they can be either way around.
Remember if you allow the installer to add them to the Scenery Library, the priority is automatically set.
