If one downloads a freeware aircraft and finds that the sound files being distributed with it are a commercial developers product that sells for EUR 10.00, and no mention of any rights of use in the readme....what would one do?
Your thoughts please.

Are they pretty distinctive sounds? God knows I couldn't tell the difference lol.
Contacted, and YES they are the same. All used Filenames and waveforms match, waveforms are like fingerprints no 2 are alike.AndrewJamez wrote:QUOTE (AndrewJamez @ Aug 23 2011,9:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Unless its your own developed sound set and you feel ripped off, It shouldnt be your problem. I wouldnt worry. I know some will take offence to that but thats my pov.
Great attitude, no wonder society is out of controlI would love to hear that line being used by an offender in court.

Actually, I can understand Andrew's point of view -- I learnt the hard way that you can't expect to get away unscathed by acting as the piracy police. A simple email to the developer "is this legit" is as far as I'd go, but getting riled up in a forum thread makes no sense.
One of the reasons why discussions on piracy are discouraged here, to the extent that they may breach the rules.Last edited by toprob on Sat Aug 27, 2011 6:02 pm, edited 1 time in total.

It is sorted, at the start of this thread there were no names or product brands mentioned. My OP was to ask "what one should do".
I have been in touch with the author and to sum it up, the aircraft in question was not, is not at fault.
Please don't ask me to point fingers, as I wont. My intentions were no to name names nor to stir up a hornets nest.

Good grief..... At no point did I say you did, it was a simple generalized request not an accusation. your post is a great reflectionRegards always
