Just in time to go find some valleys for this month's comp comes 'Shade'. This is a cracker addon, I'm only just beginning to scratch the surface.

Nice screens Rob.

Yeah na she's a cracker I went for it too, my "spit in the wind" screen is a testament to it.

I love the lighting effects it has on everything, reminds me of the Microsoft Flight promo shots. Think it'll change the face of screening from now on.

I just bought Shade tonight. Given it's so cheap it's really a no brainer. A must have. The world looks great in it. Rob/ (or anyone) are you just using the default settings it comes with? I don't feel confident enough to go playing with the colours, but think it looks pretty good 'out of the box' ?

Default for me at this stage, don't want to end up with a psychedelic sunset. laugh.gif

I just use one of the supplied presets -- that's pretty much how I start with anything, takes me a while to try out all the presets, if I find one I love I stick with it, otherwise I'll read the manual...
I actually combine this with ENB, so far no problems using them together.

You can run this two ways, either leaving it on permanently or injecting the changes when you start FSX, and then unloading them after, this is nice to have, it means that you don't need to worry about wrecking your install too much.

This just changes the colour palettes, so it doesn't add any workload to FSX. The only issue I would have is whether to run it all the time, as it might not be best for all situations. It does change the colour of some scenery, of course, and this isn't always ideal. However the ability to choose whether or not to run it each time you run FSX helps here.

It definitely falls into the category of huge visual improvement for very little expense/bother.
