Hello, I am posting here to see what this system I want to get would do in FSX.

Before I spend any money I want to be sure that I will get at least 40fps in FSX and other games (Like Crysis.)

SAPPHIRE Toxic 11188-07-40R Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Sandy Bridge Optimized F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit DVD-Rom OEM
CORSAIR Professional Series AX750 750W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Fractal Design R3 Case Black
Asus DRW-24B3ST Black 24x Dual Layer SATA DVD Rewriter BLACK RETAIL
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Samsung PX2370 Black 23" LED 16:9 Full HD 1920x1080 2ms 5,000,000:1 DVI/HDMI LED Monitor
Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST31000524AS 7200.12 SATA3 6Gb/s NCQ 32MB 7200RPM Hard Drive OEM
Intel Core i7 2600K Unlocked Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz 8MB Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Hyperthreading Processor
Logitech MK120 Chorded Desktop (Mouse and Keyboard combo)

Total: $2,520.99

Now, This is what I am thinking of getting. Is it worth getting? Will it run most "gun games" at 60fps and FSX at 30 - 40fps?

Thanks.

The parts list certainly looks good, I guess its a pre-assembled machine?

As far as FSX goes your FPS will depend on how you set sliders and what scenery and AI and aircraft addons you are using at the time. 30-40FPS should be achievable most of the time, but at a busy airport with lots of AI and a complex aircraft model you will still see it drop into the 20's on occasion, sometimes lower possibly. Seems like with FSX it gets to a point where no matter how much $$$ you throw at it you get diminishing returns.

That rig should set you up nicely for other more modern games I'd say (dont know about Crysis, actually, never heard of it smile.gif and you should also be sweet for MS-Flight if it ever hits the shelves
