Well guys...
The Beta is here http://www.gamefront.com/files/20939218/vLSO.zip

To install the program unzip this archive and copy the vLSO folder to a folder of your choice and replace the existing files.
Copy the CarrierTrials folder over to the FSX/Missions/Military folder and replace the existing files.

ATTENTION - This beta version is not compatible with the alpha, so you'll have to remove the Logbook.dat file before first run of this beta.

What's new?

More grades. All the grades, actually.
Totally new approach data acquisition and evaluation system.
More eyecandies and user interface improvements (handwritten logbook for example)
Manual ball call option for you, hardcore simmers.
Additional views in the CarrierTrials mission (PLAT, paddles and Air boss)
No more areas and triggers in missions. I encourage you to test the program with any FSX carrier missions available.

Happy landings![/quote]

This is for carrier landings in FSX acceleration.

You should try the old Swordfish onto the Illustrious in FSX , you have this this little batman in the corner with the paddles , not that you need them at the speed you land with the old biplane laugh.gif biggrin.gif .

For modern carriers they use the meatball instead of an LSO with paddles.

You would have to have quite good vision to see a man on the deck in a Hornet.

The above link is for the Sludge hornet which has a gauge which has a zoomed in view of the meatball when on approach. Meatball is modelled in the FSX acceleration carrier.

Adrian , Oh man ... were ya been biggrin.gif , for starters here is a link to start you off with some WWII carriers and brilliant flyable aircraft .
http://www.flyingstations.com/

Now for the cream , from flightsim.com

FSX Acceleration USS Nimitz

Name: uss_nimitz_ike_version2.zip Size: 126,929,034 Date: 11-10-2009 Downloads: 22,976
FSX Acceleration USS Nimitz and USS Eisenhower, v2.0. New version of AI moving aircraft carriers USS Nimitz and USS Eisenhower for FSX Acceleration. New features include catapult steam, new animations and underway replenishment (oiler ship model included). Features a working elevator, four cables and catapults. Includes multiple deck configurations. Aircraft on the deck include SH-60, E-2C, T-45 and four variants of F/A-18 of CVW7 and CVW11. Recommended usage with Lamont Clark's AIcarriers2.zip. By Javier Fernandez. (Previous version had 6688 downloads)

Just to finish you off , again from same link , put 'Bruce Fitzgerald' in the search engine , you get a drivable CV6 .. this means when both loaded in multiplay i can sail the carrier - be the LSO and you can land what ever carrier aircraft , again we both have or needed for it to work , we have had multiplay with four people flying and myself as the carrier commander . biggrin.gif ... cool.gif ohmy.gif

Why be an LSO when you can fly and have the vLSO do the job for you. biggrin.gif

Also Dinos T45 (freeware) and VRS Superhornet (payware)
and coming soon:

VRS Tacpac which brings combat to VRS Superhornet for MP and has an SDK to make other aircraft combat capable in MP and:

FSX@WAR = mod for FSX online MP campaign. clapping.gif
