Looking at that, I've always felt there should be something (a steel cable?) holding those tail booms in formation. Maybe a really long elevator between them.

Your right Dave .....but i guess those little booms must be pretty strong.

Safe as houses Dave

Without typing out the whole long anecdote, the only cable between those booms was 10mm Dacron with a Tost tow ring on the end... The late, great Stew Griffiths looped one of these ugly suckers after the glider released and managed to catch sight of the tow ring as he went over the top
