Upgrading

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Postby SeanTK » Mon Nov 14, 2011 10:59 am

Well, I have a birthday coming up in a couple weeks, and Christmas after that, so now may be a good time to ask for "assistance" (smile.gif ) with upgrading from my immediate family.

I'm looking at the following components. Please note, harddrivess are fine, monitor, keyboard, mouse, flight controls, and sound system are fine too.
I currently use XP but would upgrade to Win7 64-bit for the upgrade.

All of this is subject to complete change, but this is just after an initial review/research session.
Not sure how much I want to spend yet.

What do you think just from what's given here?

Not sure a sound card is worth it either.

The components look pretty sweet.

Havent seen the 2GB EVGA 560Ti for sale here in NZ, you gonna order from overseas? I wonder if you'll see much benefit from it over the 1GB model? Price isnt a lot more tho so I spose its a nice future proofing exercise.

What do you get features wise in the "Pro" Z68 ASRock m/b's over a lesser model? Seems like a few more I/O ports, onboard RAID? what else? Just wondering if its worth the extra $50us over some of the other Z68 models?
