Not exactly an ideal time of day for photos, but thought I would post them up anyway

Overflying the hills above my home. I can see myself down there simming this lol

Simple comment for this one: THANK YOU Robin. biggrin.gif Makes the scenery complete for me.

Pepin Island

Some weather turned on now. Building Storms is my favourite from the default choices

Just for Charl, no direct sun shots

Passing over Richmond where I grew up. Nice merges done with the VLC scenery smile.gif

This sure is a nice scenery pack, good detailing and realism. Great shots too Alister, I agree that there is more interest if you choose different weather patterns. I tend to almost always fly with real weather but that occasionally has resulted in some flights that I am sure would not be legal in the real world!!

Me too Greg, but for scenic flights where I want some nice photogenic weather, I know I'll get the result I am looking for. Activesky wasn't giving me the result I wanted today, hence taking the cheat with default themes. winkyy.gif
The joy of simming is doing all sorts of things that aren't legal in the real world biggrin.gif haha

Nice shots Alister thanks for sharing them and the confirming validity of the area as a local. I'll just flick up a few of shots I took too under this topic so we don't end up with 18 topics on the same subject.

Sure I've been mountain biking here!!!!

Was a busy weekend so didn't get much of a chance to do much simming, but what I saw form a quick flight gave me that "Wow" factor. Thanks Robin groupwave.gif groupwave.gif

Nice! I don't mind you adding at all biggrin.gif Please do more if you want! I don't think I have that building near my tv transmitter mast, maybe my objects or autogen is turned down a bit much.
I wish my pc could sharpen the photo ground textures as well as yours biggrin.gif

Yep, the building is autogen, so it will appear at higher settings.
Your pics look nice and sharp, are you referring to the foreground grass textures? I think that zkcav uses a high res 'detail' texture, which I highly recommend. I use the free REX one -- look for 'Enhanced grass and environment bitmap for FSX' under their free download section.
It actually applies a grass texture to all ground textures, which isn't to everyone's taste. But since it doesn't affect the photo tarmac textures at Nelson (and won't affect AFCAD-type surfaces either) it works quite well here, and at a lot of other NZ airports.
Doesn't look so great on snow, though....

No Robin, just my old PC struggling a bit with sharpening up photo ground textures. Like this picture:

Note how blurry the ground is. But shot 1 from CAV (well all of them) shows nice sharp textures on the hills behind. Not sure what setting to twist up a notch to improve that aspect.

Cheers

Alister all my sliders are to the right apart from water textures, so I can't tell you which one specifically to increase.... sorry

Just slip everything to the MAX , spend a couple of hours in the cycle , course stopping pausing and enjoying then continue .. the Early CS 737-100 is ideal to really put you in the mood , with the ole Anseet paint and a repeat wing view flight in FS you be as happy as Larry cool.gif

Cheers. I have to have the sliders back a little in order to run higher quality payware planes without CTD. I do turn them up a bit for the GA flying.
Think this might be more a fsx.cfg or gfx card thing maybe, rather than slider. But, won't hurt to try smile.gif
