Auckland - Apia and back w AirNZ

Hey lads. Have just got home from our trip to Samoa, did you miss me - so thought I'd share a few aircraft pics along the way. Flew on ZK-NCJ (Air NZ 767-300er) both ways between Auckland and Faleolo Int'l (NSFA). Was my first flight on a 767, seemed reasonably well appointed and leg-room pretty good (I'm a 6-footer). Landing back on RWY05 last night was so smooth the first cue we had we were about to land was when then wheels hit the tarmac. Anyway, here's the pics...

It may be raining but i bet i was warm , so use to seeing airbridges to the 76 that when you regular types it increases the aircraft size a bit .

Yeah was a great trip thanks HW. And very warm Ian. We didnt really know what to expect of Samoa, but its your typical pacific island sort of experience really. Great warm weather, occasional tropical rain-storms, relaxed island pace of life (dont depend or worry about timetables), and lots of lovely scenic and natural delights. Not the cheapest of places to be honest if you prefer to stay somewhere western, but there are lots of cheaper options if you dont mind roughing it a little. We had our 2-year old in tow so we we're doing the hi-de-hei resort option which was actually pretty nice, but $$$

HW, you wouldnt be too happy on the spotting front, most aircraft seemed to arrive after dark, and some of the PacBlue and AirNZ flights were post midnight.

Oh and BTW Ian, yeah know what you mean about the perspective, the 767 actually looks quite the beast up close like this, kinda like a mini-777

On the many times a climbed board the airbridged 777 , through the glass and inside distance gives you a smaller aircraft affect , I climbed on a 747-200 back in CHCH 1980 and few other flights on the DC-10 , the climb was WOW
