Come on Marty its Christmas so almost anything goes shouldn't be hard to find something like just flying to your friends or family for a Christmas gathering or choppering into their back lawn and blowing down their Christmas tree are just a couple of ideas winkyy.gif tongue.gif

After weeks of lacking inspiration I've finally decide that it's better to put something in rather than nothing....

This is my interpretation of a modern NZ Christmas. The Three wise men and shepherds are out following the Christmas star (the Southern cross here) overflying NZ on the way. Of course because we are flying over NZ the Southern DC3 is a must and it doesn't have to move far from its home base in Ashburton to get down here to Mt Cook National Park. This is my almost completed repaint of the Aeroplane Heaven DC3 which I got on sale from Just Flight back in October or September.

The Pohutakawa is often considered to be the NZ Xmas tree so there it is on the left and of course Mt Cook is part of our national identity so that had to be there too. Just couldn't figure out how to get the All Blacks and a Kiwi as part of the scene but maybe we can imagine them as some of the passengers too....

Thanks to StormDog on Flickr for making the Pohutakawa available for derivative works.

Good to hear that something is on its way. I had more or less given up on the theme but was flying this DC3 around Mt Cook taking a few screen shots when this more or less inane thought occurred to me - so maybe all you need to do is a bit more (lot more?) flying and see what happens inside your brain . . . .

If you're not IN you can't WIN - though of course that's not the main point but it is a nice little extra isn't it!

With less than two and a half days to go we only have 16 entries.
Let me say this is not good enough last time we had four prizes we had 54 entries that’s a whole 38 more than what we have now so where are you other 38 members that entered in that competition.
Don't tell me you cant think of a Christmas image there are hundreds that can be used "Dropping holy leaves from your aircraft, how about pylon racing through Christmas trees, doing a Santa lolly drop" just to name a few.
So come on there are no excuses get cracking now you can't win one of the prizes if you aren’t in, remember for all entries entered at closing time there are 5 prizes up for ballot plus 2 more one each for the first and second place getters.
