I was just messing with my anti-aliasing (with FXAA) and happened to catch these two. I'm still amazed at the sheer variety of effects that live FSX weather (+REX) can produce.

A fictional ANZ repaint for the PMDG B737-700

A more authentic repaint - a Qantas B737-800NGX climbing into the gloom ...

I *was* OTW to Welly with those but the News footage put me off! I'd probably be still "going around" today! I was going to suggest ANZ install a "crash detection ON/OFF" switch on all theirr fleet laugh.gif

That PMDG 737 is totally awesome ... just a shame I keep having to jump into my A2A Spit, P-40, B-17 - or even my other "fave" ... the dreaded Wilga.

That Qantus shot looks real Dude.. Very Nice. Haven't got REX but some of the ORB weather that came with the NZSI is pretty cool.

I'm still messing about with Graphic's forcing this and that. I'm still getting pops in the VC when I change from locked spot to VC. I think it's the FTX night switch keeps setting my textures back to 1024 from the 4096. Still playing and learning. PMDG 737 NGX very cool..highly impressed. Lost as hell... but learning as I go as far as flying it. FMC SID's and STAR's have me a bit confused blink.gif It's like going back to school so much to learn but enjoying myself.

Actually looking at Ham's photos using Virgin Blues outta Hamilton .. think you have the choice scheme to ply New Zealand skies .

I've always thought the Pacblue and Virgin liveries were particularly revolting. We're lucky that the current ANZ livery is so refined and stylish yet manages to look modern. Even the occasional deviation into LOTR or rugby still looks good, IMHO.

That said, I've always liked the Qantas liveries. So simple and striking.

One of the great "down" sides to having been a graphic designer in a previous life is that you can't "turn off" that super-critical "eye". I can't watch any live TV because of the garish "in your face" (usually low-cost) ads. It's like being beaten up, so I just rent DVDs instead.

I also worked as a film editor for a couple of years and found I just couldn't go to the cinema any more. If a shot was a single frame too early or late on the cut, I'd be almost screaming. Considering you're talking about 1/24 sec ...

Good editing, like good design, should be totally invisible, IMHO. Unless it's a Spitfire, that is ... laugh.gif

Shot number two is ultra real !!!

Nothing wrong with the first shot either, and good to see the Pacific Wave is still there. Long live the wave,

smooth landings.

The typical 737 pose , NZCH-WN run , this was the return , everything about this 73 simply says its worth the dollars

And what do you expect , course ANZ .. but the US diplomatic 75 jet .. hmm wonder if it has something to do with those 3 Destroyers unsure.gif

Christchurch to Queenstown , the 737 is drop dead to love for , horrible weather all the way down , low flight in the ruff stuff at flt18 nice and bumpy for the
passengers but i guess the AI was going to get back at me for not choosing a higher alt .

Cruz out over the southern plains quite rough thru here

AI and two go arounds , being to think i was at windy Welly with these

finally they run out off planes to chuck at me and left me a clear approach

almost in and a clean runway

sure make ole Queenie a busy spot , no sooner i'd parked up another 737 was leaving

plane.gif
