...and you all thought it was going to be a MB-339...this is the C202 Folgore...supposedly the most beautiful (but unreliable) Axis figher of WW2... understandable been Italian

Italy was no slouch in aircraft design. Interesting that 'Macchi' rhymes with 'Naki'.

It might have been very reliable, but from 'what I have heard' from the war regarding the Italians and their willingness for war, maybe there were dozens of reasons to fly home instead of towards battle laugh.gif
Seriously though, it is a nice looking plane, and then we could argue all day about the most beautiful WW2 fighter biggrin.gif

I was expecting a 339 (you read my mind!) But this fits the bill! Based on the 200 Saetta wasn't it? Just a gruntier power plant and other bits and bobs. That Daimler Benz 601 certainly got around

molto buona!!

I wonder why you would put the cockpit of a tail-dragger warbird so far back? CofG reasons perhaps? Anyway, thanks for sharing such an interesting subject. thumbup1.gif thumbup1.gif

Thanks guys...its a FS9 model coverted to FSX...more info on this thread

BTW the reliability was mainly the oxygen system and radios (too lightly armed as well)...engine was German so no issues there!
