Arr so they are bring out the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight , that,s it then , Lancaster Spitfire Hurricane and special guess the Vulcan bomber , I'll be there

I've got nothing against the herc, but when you've seen the RNZAF display routine you've really seen the extent of what they can do, unless the USAF brings "Fat Albert".Should still be a good show, and I always enjoy them from a photographer's point of view but watching three or four Hercules/CN-235 displays might be a bit tedious after a while.
Seems an awful lot of people have been hearing rumours of an F-35...and they ARE building a USMC one...and the USMC ARE bringing a tanker so they could in theory ferry one all the way out here right...?
BTW Fat Albert is a USN Aircraft, not USAF...part of the Blue Angels display team...

I remember as a kid on Whenuapai Airbase I'd look over 42Sqd block to see what new tails had arrived during the night or cycling down to the pools to find a C-5 or C-141 parked down on 08..the C-5 used to just whisper in ( definately not whisper out !),..and to occasionally see the Nimrods and Canadian Argus's and later the Aurora's parked up ...great memories.., grew up on Ohakea and Whenuapai so have Avgas running in my veins , hopefully with our current government not kicking our allies in balls we might see some of the haydays return

Hmmm...well it'd be awesome to see one of those there too!!
Ian Warren wrote:QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Feb 18 2012,10:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Its just a pity they did'nt have a No.75 Squadron to celebrate with , a question .. what are they going to paint up this 75th was asked to me , there was the above the A4 for 50 , even the P3 got a special for 40 they sure as hell cant paint up the two newbies .. look bloody silly on a CT-4 ..
What is the anniversary colour or thing for 75 years ?....50 is gold, 65 is diamond (i think) ....maybe they could just put a badge or something on all the aircraft for a year.
Wont matter if their new or not, its the Air Force anniversary....not the aircraft.
Ian Warren wrote:QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Feb 19 2012,12:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I think it was a time when we could call it an Airforce , ironic .. 75 has the double meaning , deletion off that Squadron which was in more part so much off RNZAF history .
I know what your saying Ian, but its over sadly, and i cant see any way (short of all out war...and we dont want that) that we can get it back. I bet aunty Helen is grinning , knowing shes living under the protection of the USAF. Lets hope she never gets any input into how they run that
