Gisborne NZGS

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby Dash8captain » Fri Feb 17, 2012 10:51 am

Hi Everyone, I was wondering whether there is a Gisborne Airport out there for FSX I have never found one, Or is someone currently working on one? I have just flown there recently and it is actually a cool little airport would someone possibly be able to do one?

Cheers

I've made one for the next release of the VLC Nth Island airports - Deane B was kind enough to provide the Fletcher for the gate guardian there but all the rest are VLC library objects and default objects smile.gif

Shouldnt be too far away- I just want to finish the updates to the VLC libraries first so I can incorporate some of the new objects around the place smile.gif

Ill pop some pics up in a bit smile.gif

Does that mean we might get Fletchers as placeable VLC objects? Would be great to see these dotted around our rural strips.

That would be a question for Deane to answer but I believe he has been working on a set of agricultural objects associated with topdressing (hoppers, trucks etc) smile.gif

Superb work Timmo, looking forward to the updated North Island Airfields pack. It'll be great to get some new VLC content.

Hopefully Gisborne will be available in time for when I reach there on my NZ national Tour. biggrin.gif

haha I would love to have that Ian....I believe it is 'possible' using an animation but that would require at least a photoreal base etc (i.e. a custom modeled airport as opposed to an update using library objects)

Now i wonder , a rather good model builder could create the similar thing as AI shipping , then again , after the flooding and rail washed away .. just to much for so little .

Very impressive effort by ORBX. Can anyone tell me, though, why we can't have proper rivers in FSX? Is it really that hard to make basic water flowing like a river does instead of have the generic "cut and paste large body of water / big puddle" thing? Having proper rivers - that aren't boring, static ones in photoreal - would give FSX a decent lift in realism.

One reason i continually mention photo , now if you study ORBX rivers being ahead of the game exactly what they did for a texture .. to have rivers and coastlines work the same is a task that is huge but not impossible task .. old saying is .. simply takes time , and many just don't get payed for all addon's produced .. FSX is doing well by compare off its six year ago release .
