Interesting reading....just seems odd to me , the bulk of that report was all doom and gloom....but , hey...lets go buy some new aircraft.
I think it was Freddy Laker who said "if want a nice little airline....start off with a big one"

Anyway...go ANZ ....best in the world New_Zealand_etc.gif

It's a difficult business, you have to plan years ahead and assume things will pan out.
Certainly ANZ must be getting some of the best possible terms available, and so would convert their options into orders.
As a disappointed launch customer they will be wringing their hands at Boeing's door about the financial hardships created by the delivery delays.

And ANZ will chop all those jobs, including the boss!
Amazing that Fyfe is going - not fired, not to a new job, just... quitting.
I guess it's a difficult business.

Interesting that they are ordering another 2 787-900's. As Boeing has decided to put the -800 wing on it, instead of a purpose designed -900 wing, it has certainly changed the mission profile and reduced it's range. It will no longer meet the requirements of some proposed new city pairings.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
