Featured in another thread, this old Alphasim FS9 model makes a nice FSX screeny.

Dave - I don't appear to have this yellow livery listed on NZFSIM. Did it come with Alphasim or was it an add-on you found somewhere?

Thanks, Dave. I posted in the thread you mentioned. If there's a free paintkit for the Alpha Harvard and the offending file can't be re-packaged, I may have a go at it myself. I did buy the FS9 Harvard ... many moons ago ... I'll have to trawl my old archives, as I certainly haven't had it installed for a while.

Some work in progress! The same livery for the two Alphasim Harvard models:

Neither model is totally accurate, but I think the 2nd one is the closer of the two. Still some specular/bump mapping to do, then I need to check out copyright etc. winkyy.gif

Nice - your paint has a lot more pigment than mine.

ALPHA Harvards for NZ have all been done as I recall - FS9 repaints work in FSX.

Adam I did a 3-pack and I think 78 was in there - but the font was wrong.
You need to have that "squared-off" look

Thanks for that pic, Charl - it's much better than the side-on one that I have. I made the numbers up by hand, so can easily change those corners. Looks like I overdid them winkyy.gif

I did the repaint because I like those Harvards and because I'm still learning the ropes.

My 2 monitors both seem to show my yellow as slightly "cooler" than on the real aircraft. I was hoping to correct that with a specular texture, but it looks look the [Alphasim] model hasn't got slots for either spec or bump. I could be talking rubbish though!

Yes it seems to be a little more orange than, say the RCAF one.
Couple of mashups for you:

And, if you dig in the linked threads above, you'll find the right combination of prop boss. antenna etc

Thanks again, Charl.

Apparently, I'd need to email Phil to get the revised (no antenna) mdl ... but will his email still exist now, I wonder?

EDIT: Final version pics below smile.gif

I'll probably put it up on Flightsim.Com soon, but in the meantime you can grab it from here: Alpha_Texan_Harvard_NZ1078.zip (about 2Mb).
