The paint can't even be dry on the RAF A330MRTTs...only a few have been delivered and don't even think they are in operational service yet.

True....i have a friend over there on a Squadron due to get one or two....nothing yet....but, who am i to doubt.
And when you think about it....if they can bring that down here, why not bring a Typhoon or 2....at least it would justify the trip cool.gif

You can download the free RNZAF Airforce News (March 2012) on PDF which includes the Ohakea Aircraft Layout plan on page 7.

Saw on the airforce website there will be a civilian Beech Texan making an appearance? Wonder whats the backstory with that?

I'll be there on the day, flying in one way or another.

Just a quick note to anyone planning on flying in - make sure you have a look in the March AIP supplement, you'll need to have emailed them beforehand for permission to arrive by air, they won't allow aircraft in that haven't obtained permission in advance. (...and apparently requesting clearance to enter the control zone isn't sufficient prior permission winkyy.gif)

Just a small request, it doesn't look like I'll make it to Ohakea this weekend, so could someone take some photos of the buildings and layout of the area if they have time so I can make a more accurate version of Ohakea scenery.
Cheers
Gavin

These overseas aeroplanes are listed as coming on the RNZAF page.

Royal Australian Air Force F-18A Hornet
United States Air Force C-17
Royal Australian Air Force B737 Wedgetail
Royal Australian Air Force C-17
Royal Australian Air Force C-130J
Singapore Air Force C-130
French Armed Forces of New Caledonia CASA 235
US Marine Corps KC-130

RAF have not confimed as yet and not all of the above will display but should be there.

Cannot wait for the show, we will be heading up in the Nanchang if the weather is good.

Sorry to Say Chaps, I am rather dissapointed in the offering from the other countries.
They Had an airshow at Amberley a few years back, and word is there will be one again next year.
But the Yanks sent 2 F-15's and a tanker.
Singapore sent down a F-16.
The Ozzies had the F-18's and F-111's.
It really was sad that the F-15's and F-16 stayed on the ground during the weekend, cause that would have been a great flyby.

But I really hope it will be a great weekend for everyone.

Will be taking as many photo's as possible.

Pretty sad if there is no surprises.

Our pilots have flown in all campaigns, WW2 in all theaters (Battle of Britain inc where there is a statue of Kiwi Hugh Dowding in The Strand and of course Sir Keith Park), Korea, Vietnam with many lives lost and heroism supporting the big powers of the world.
(And they did it bloody well too)
If they do not acknowledged our past hero's by supporting our 75th anniversary in some quite significant way, I myself as a kiwi will fell insulted sad.gif

Better stop getting wound up.....

Let's hope they acknowledge the little ol Kiwi
