Is there a specific reason why the PIC is sitting in the right (no puns please) seat?

Military seem to always fly as PIC in the RH seat in trainers for some reason...I know they do on the SF-260 as well

Those who fly on the left hand side of the vic formation, box formation etc with the Red Checkers fly in the right seat as the have a clear line of sight to the leader.
Instructors/trainee instructors fly in the right hand seat as well as it becomes more comfortable.
Anyone who has tried it knows how odd it feels to fly in the right hand seat in an aeroplane following a lot of time in the left seat, feels like a lot of things around the wrong way cool.gif
