Gidday guys,

Did anyone else undertake the hellish mission that was trying to get to Ohakea today?

I was sweet too, we stayed in Palmy the night before left for Ohakea at 7:30 was sitting ready for the start of the show at 9:30. Must admit it did seem a bit of a shambles as far as traffic coordination we went to main gates only to be told to turn around and go back to where we had come from. But was made up for by an awesome airshow with great displays and commentary except the yank/robot from Hawker Pacific (those that went will hopefully know what i mean).

And that awkward moment when you are American and in a big American voice you read your scripted patriotic speech and halfway through the routine announce to the crowd that that "To look to your right as the Ceeeeee 17 Globemaster 3 blah blah blah configures for its next pass".... whilst the crowd are all looking at the C-17 turning to come back from the left !!!

Oh and don't forget it was Rambo flying the Texan!

Thats very typical for a US military display from my experience. I have heard the speal for the USAF Thunderbirds, F-117, the F-15 disply team; amoungst others at RIAT one year. Almost gives you the bio of everyone involved.

Descriptions of the routine can be very over the top!
