I spend eleven months of the year in the UK and one in NZ. I'm hoping to improve that... ;-)

Cheers, Paul. Heh heh, I'm finding Dave's new DH.89 has a bit more of a learning curve than the old version. A more accurate (less forgiving) flight model means I've had a few nose-first landings on ground, so at least Lake Tarawera gave me something big to aim at... laugh.gif

Thanks Ian and Marty, I thought you'd both be along for a look laugh.gif

That's one of my favourite sightseeing runs with a floatplane, probably because "Volcanic Air" (from Real NZ Rotorua) is one of the only water starts I have in FSX. It's great to take off from Lake Rotorua, fly over the city and lakes, up right over the top of Mount Tarawera then circle round and come in for a landing on the lake below the mountain.

I'm very interested in that area in real life, mostly for the weird geology and history of the eruption, buried village of Te Wairoa etc and have been there many times although never for a sightseeing flight. Perhaps I'll do it for real one day?

Cheers,

Ade

Only recent have they found remains and shoals of the famous terraces in this area in a diving explore of one the lakes around Tarawera , ... strange each time i here or the word mentioned i keep thinking of Tarawa and the famed battle in 1943 ... guess that's the war monger coming out off me winkyy.gif
