Anyone heading to NZAA on Tuesday to spot the 787? Keep an eye on flightaware if you live in the region, latest I've heard is that they're looking at a 10am departure sydney time which I guess will put it at NZAA by 2:00pm-ish? I'm gonna rock up from Hamilton on my bike and take a squiz, if anyones going and heading for any poor-mans spotting points let me know biggrin.gif

Assuming the flight's 3 1/2 hours, wouldn't that make it a 1530 arrival NZT, if departure is by Australia's Eastern Seaboard time?

Think the flight time's closer to 3hrs, but yeah my bad on the timezone, think I'll aim to be there by 2:30pm
So, anyone else?

Just listened in to Sydney tower to hear Boeing 787 Heavy depart about 20 minutes later than scheduled. Flight aware shows an ETA into Auckland of 15:08.

Was just going to watch it overfly the house but decided to scoot down to the airport after the crosswind picked up.

It dose not look the size it is due to the windows and ... someone will say this down the track , a nose reminiscent of Comet and Caravalle .. which was one of the same .

Unfortunately won't be able to get out to the airport , but tracking on flightradar24 and scanner turned on , the first triple7 did a city flyover as did many of the big ones just maybe (fingers crossed) .. hells its a pity we don't have Concorde's to track anymore

Lovely shots! Andy, I had to save that first one for my screensaver.

I like very few airliners, something about the Dreamliner has really captured me from the start. The Comet-like (as Ian pointed out) nose, the lines, those scalloped nacelles....it just seems to scream class.

Bring on the ANZ -9s!
