This will be awesome, am hoping to head up there as well. I got to have a poke around looking at the machine (I assume its the same one) in a much earlier state at AvSpecs back in 2009, really looking fwd to seeing it in the air.
Here's a couple of pics I took on the visit....

And a few more following showing some of the other machines at the time...

Couple of pics taken last weekend, cannot wait to fly alongside this aeroplane.

As noted the show date has changed.
The owner has his own airshow in the US on the weekend of the 23rd and what a thrill it will be for him to see his aeroplane fly.

One Question , apart from Derek the pilot and his sidekick Nav Adam , who is rated or lucky enough to test fly this aircraft in NZ or are bringing in an outsider ?

Derek .. don't tell anyone this , Rick has mowed the paddock awaiting your arrival and put a new barn in ninja.gif

I would put a fiver in it being a kiwi cool.gif could be more than one pilot involved.

Hmmmm ... if I started tomorrow, how long would it take to get a twin rating (starting from scratch, but with 4,000,000 hrs in simulation time)? laugh.gif

No doubt it will be either Keith Skilling, John Lanham or Frank Parker

Which reminds me ... any idea who the pilot of the Tiger Moth display at the last Ardmore show was? I thought it was a Frank somebody or other ... but it's not the Frank that owns/flies the P-40. It was an *awesome* Moth routine.

Dave bases that Tiger Moth on a small airstrip in the Clevedon valley just down the road from Ardmore. It's always an amazing display, there can't be many people in the world who can throw a Tiger Moth around like that.
