Black textures

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

An old issue for which I should remember the fix. Installing JK's NZ textures for Dave Garwood's 'Rapide' - when selected show up as all black, literally. The title= was missing from one of the aircraft.cfg entries so I added it - all downhill from there. Someone, with the 'Rapide' NZ textures installed, tell me how their entries match up with the original 14.

Hmm strange , the textures or the aircraft would turn black if not saved in the correct format , but it should follow the cfg. by JK's paint in the as you mentioned in order , i did not get around to installing the two paints - ill try it shortly and see if i get the same problem .

Hmmmm ... couple of possible causes. Old textures on Dave's new model? Or vice-versa?

Which NZ textures are we talking about, as I did one (NZ528) for Dave's older model. The new version has that same repaint done by Dave anyway.

If you give me a link to JK's file, I'll have a go on mine.

They're both on the Ozx repaints list under Dave Garwood - JK_ZK-AKT and JK_ZK-BCP. http://www.aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/fi...-rapide-zk-akt/ The basic 'texture' folder is part .bmp part .dds while JK's repaints are all .dds.

Duly grabbed ... I'll install it and see what I get. Which DG Rapide have you got, though - V4??

EDIT: Dave - I've worked it out. The missing "title" entry was the culprit. You may have missed a few items in it ...

Dave (Garwood) uses some pretty neat/fancy logic to load the different model variations - all set by the use of specific "keywords" in the title ... like "8-seat", "modern" etc.

I just copied/pasted one of the other titles and edited the rego to ZK-AKT (the title has to be unique) - and it all fired up OK.

*However* - it may be worth popping a note on JK's entry on OzX to ask which model it ought to be ... and what that line should comprise of.

Sounds like I may not have the correct model downloaded - the aircraft.cfg entries say sim=rapide_v3 whereas JanKees paints say 'v4'. I adjusted his entries to 'v3' but obviously that's not a fix.

Aaaah .... you really want V4 ... it's quite an improvement (not that v3 was bad!).

dh89a_V4_patch2.zip

Best of luck!

V4 did the trick - and a title= line for ZK-AKT.
