Team, Im going to a bit quiet for a few days. My mum (78) got taken to hospital this morning with a heart problem and fluid on her lungs.
Doc seems to think she will be ok but will need an op soon.

I'll be staying with the old man , who cant see much and make sure he dosent wander off and get lost or burn the house down dry.gif

Will advise any updates.
@Charl .... thanks for the reply, I'll get back asap.

Yes, all the best for your Mum, Marty. I agree with Ian: hospitals arent the best of places. I hope she in and out of there in record time, and back to firing on all cylinders toute suite. thumbup1.gif I trust all goes well with "minding" your Dad too - I know something of what that's like with my Dad...

Yep, all the best Marty!! smile.gif I know how you feel, mine went in for surgery to remove melanoma tumours from her stomach, so I can vouch for the pretty damned clever thing. She'll be in safe hands, that's for sure!!

Good luck, hoping for the best.
Joe.

Again, thanks guys.

She (mum) had an angiogram today....not really sure what that is, but the docs will decide tonight if she needs 1 of 2 ops.
1 is too her heart via her leg, and 2 is open heart .
Im still here with dad, and we are doing fine....but i have to be honest, its hard work...and Im running out of steam very fast, so i hope they do what they do soon, and get her home.

I do think that age is less important than some other factors -- a bloke in his early 70s who had his op on the same day as me bounced back a lot better than me, with absolutely no complications. One thing I will say is that once you get past the op/recovery, a new valve perks you up no end!

Biggest thing is attitude .. I know and have an idea and a plan ... all my skill and Knowledge , I'm not in the position to sit back and retire , .. compare and add another 30 years off my life time above your senior family they are most justified to sit back and relax , Marty they will do fine , trust me another two decades
