Even with my meagre time in this addictive hobby i've seen many a time the next best thing fissile out due to over hype , no money left, key developers leaving, or just plain cr@p programming. Time will tell I say.
I can't see *Lockheed Martin* running out of money! However - they could just decide to move on to other things.
I haven't been tempted by Prepar3D yet ... I'd miss my PMDG and A2A too much (and I can't see myself running both sims at once). If either of those 2 big boys join the club, then I'm in.
With ORBX, A2A and PMDG regularly "raising the bar" for FSX, it's keeping a relatively ancient sim going - but I often wonder for how long.
Some people say P3D is more stable. My FSX has been uncharacteristically stable for the last few months, so I daren't touch it. I suppose the next time it starts seriously playing up, I might be tempted to give P3D a go.

Adam , You Nailed it ... lot of people here are not even in for the A2A procedure .. all they want to do buzz the skies , fair enough , some people just don't have the patience or time or even the want to learn the aircraft and types .Adamski wrote:QUOTE (Adamski @ Jun 30 2012,2:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>With ORBX, A2A and PMDG regularly "raising the bar" for FSX, it's keeping a relatively ancient sim going - but I often wonder for how long.

The more things change, the more they stay the same...
I haven't been tempted by Prepar3D yet ... I'd miss all my wonderful FS9.5 goodies too much (and I can't see myself running both sims at once).
With many developers still creating stuff and regularly "raising the bar" for FS9, it's keeping a relatively ancient sim going - I've stopped wondering for how long.
Some people say P3D is more stable. My FS9.5 has been absolutely rock solid and buttersmooth for years, so I daren't touch it. I suppose if I have a major computer failure that needs a full re-install, I might be tempted to give P3D a go.

That's a big assumption, that the future of Prepar3D depends on one guy. Still, John Nicol certainly did a great job of promoting Prepar3D, and as a New Zealander he was very interested in local development. So whatever happens, things won't quite be the same for us.Last edited by toprob on Sun Jul 01, 2012 2:04 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I've seen a few posts with people having to do a fair bit of work to get the 737 to work (and still no HUD) ... but I could have sworn I once saw a statement from PMDG that they weren't that keen on supporting P3D.

Can you imagine how it would look If they got the engine right more GPU than CPU eventually the whole world would end up looking like this....

With todays Video Cards DX11 OMG
Demand for addons just have to shift though more PrePar3D than FSX users.
