... and you managed to walk away from the landing? Excellent!!! thumbup1.gif Always envious of anyone that gets to do it in RL.

My first solo was many moons ago in a T-21 (Sedbergh) glider. It was meant to be a simple winch and circuit - but even with full spoiler on the downwind, I ended up 500ft higher than my cast-off altitude. The thing just did *not* want to land! It must have been a few days before I "landed" emotionally. It really is quite a high, isn't it?

My 2nd was much later in another (but more modern) glider. Nowhere near as memorable as that first late-afternoon flight.

Congrats,

Perfect weather for it too. Was it at Palmy or Feilding?

I did my solo at Feilding back in 2005 in FPH which i hear is no more.

Thanks all - Still buzzing from it.

C130 - I wish - I'm a bit long in the tooth to start driving those in RL

Congratulations, that's a big achievement and a flight you'll remember for the rest of your life, not that many people have flown an aeroplane by themselves so to be part of that group is something special.
