My first solo was many moons ago in a T-21 (Sedbergh) glider. It was meant to be a simple winch and circuit - but even with full spoiler on the downwind, I ended up 500ft higher than my cast-off altitude. The thing just did *not* want to land! It must have been a few days before I "landed" emotionally. It really is quite a high, isn't it?
My 2nd was much later in another (but more modern) glider. Nowhere near as memorable as that first late-afternoon flight.Last edited by Adamski on Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:47 am, edited 1 time in total.

Perfect weather for it too. Was it at Palmy or Feilding?
I did my solo at Feilding back in 2005 in FPH which i hear is no more.
