First time I've seen that photo - great find. Interesting the difference in angles of the vertical stabilisers - never thought of that before...

Well I am proud to say that I have flown all of them at some point and enjoyed them all.
Can't say the same for the girls though wub.gif. I believe the one on the left, as viewed, still flies and the one on the right used to be my ex wife's flatmate in Rongotai, Wellington, almost next to the control tower. I think from memory she was either an ex Miss NZ or a least a finalist. The uniform was quite stylish in it's day and those hats made great frizzbies (Isobel Harris I think and one of the first of the fashion designer uniforms).
The 2 special aircraft are the F27, which I cut my teeth on, and the big bugger at the back. The greatest aircraft ever made. I am very lucky to have been able to fly with Flight Engineers before they were banished into folklore. A very professional bunch of aviators.
A truly wonderful period in my life. Thanks for posting it Olderndirt.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Hmm ive stirring the pot of reputed world aircraft designers , saved the photo's sent to me by SA227 in the hope to maybe getting a FSX Friendship , guess they are still mulling over it - and just as i was typing this thought of another designer who may step to the plate ! ohmy.gif

We really do need a good F27 sim model. I enjoy Mike Stone's one with the updated Frazer McKay panel but the exterior is now well below current expectations and there is of course no VC. I dont think it works in FSX either.
If you can coerce a designer into doing it then go for it....but it has to be P3D compatible Ian smile.gif FSX is dead.

Mike Stone's F27 works perfectly fine in FSX SP-2, along with all the Air NZ and NAC, and NZ Post paints out there for it.
There is a panel that works in FSX for it, along with updated flight dynamics by Bob Chicilo.

Also, there is an F27 by Miguel Garnica that works in FSX, and its a better looker than Mike Stones one.
Adrian Brausch here on NZFF has done a couple of Air NZ and Airwork NZ paints for it, and was working on 2 other paints
for it,....... NAC Wings of the Nation, and Mt Cook Airline.

Awesome FS2002 >> FS2004 >> FSX and hopefully P3D smile.gif (a big ask).

FSX is the start , then can be P3Ded , first to find someone who wants the go at it .
