Anyone know of some way to create a realistic wash area at whenuapai so I can wash my dirty salt crusted P-3's ,..

In terms of an actual wash spray? Before I had the aerial image for the VLC whenuapai, I just recreated it using the metal planks apron texture type.

What about using the guyser effect , you really want a switch to turn it on/off at appropriate time , maybe use in conjunction with carrier launch key .

thanks fella's, yup i'm talking about making the spray as like Ian said operated by a switch of some sort,..dial in a frequency maybe ,...(NZWP is 108.80 so for ease of use make it 109.80 or similar ?), I made it ages ago using the smoke section in the aircraft.cfg..plotted it out and again like Ian said I did actually use a guyser effect that I scaled down...took ages to do but for the life of me I cant find my entries anywhere..boo sad.gif ,..but a dedicated scenery effect would/should be possible ?

Could you set up a trigger somewhat like the fueling trigger?
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

nah needs to be on a selectable trigger,..dont want the water bay starting everytime you roll over it, the aircraft only use it when they've been out on patrol out at sea to wash off any salt spray., and judging by the lack of responses to this thread Il try figure something out myself,..hoping some scenery designers knowledge might have had some idea's ha winkyy.gif

As far as my knowledge goes, you would need to revert to an FS9 scenery compiler to do this with a radio frequency.....FSX removed a lot of this conditional functionality. Sorry I can't be of more help.

thanks Timmo,..yea MS messed with lots of things,..I cant even make a grid pattern of "fountains" using the aircraft.cfg smoke section for the effects either because they wont allow horizontal entries ?..bugger because it would be a cool thing to have an operating wash area for Whenuapai ..

Thought why best to use Acceleration keys and apply to , a carrier quik launch key to work in conjunction would be the ideal ? change key assignment example 'Shift W' as you pass over the wash bay .

that makes good sense MrW,...now to figure out how to make the effect and link it to that..., it would be very very cool if it can be done...

That would be cool, i know the awesome IWM Duxford scenery for FSX has a gate that opens on a radio frequency that works in acceleration. so it should be able to be done.

One of the tools in the FSdeveloper set allows this kind of thing (conditional animations)- I just haven't had a chance to look into it yet
