New PC?

The place to ask for help or solve each others technical issues and discuss hardware

Postby Naki » Thu Oct 25, 2012 3:12 pm

Since my last thread has headed off topic in regrads to my kaput PC I will start a new one:

I was pretty happy with my existing system (AMD 4400) except for some of the more sophisticated Carenado aircraft would not run too well through built up areas. I would like to run FSX with Orbx NZ with fairly simple aircraft (Carenado King Air 200 would be max for me) with the autogen cranked up to dense and achieve around 20 -25FPS in Auckland so I'm thinking of an I5 2500k with my existing GPU (9800GT 1gb) and hard drive (and maybe DVD drive)? I would like some ideas and costs on what I should be aiming for as I am no way a tech guru.

I've decided not to buy a new PC for now. Giving up flight simming for a while, have other priorities.
