My solo flight day

A place for 'real world' pilots and aviation enthusiasts to discuss their hobby

Postby Kelvinr » Mon Nov 12, 2012 6:23 pm

Since this is a relatively significant milestone for me I would like to share this video with you guys, I hope you enjoy it, I did!

You will hear as we are parked to do run ups, the DC3 Dakota make a line up call, which ended up approaching to turn final about the same time that we completed the pre-solo circuits; just as we were on short final it called reporting the same. I know now what dreams are made of.

Thanks for the comments guys. I keep replaying the (raw) footage and critiquing myself where possible to develop precision in my flying. This one had some crosswind so going solo in it was quite a buzz, and this is probably an understatement.

Good work! Brings back memories from mine. I wish it had been as simple as yours haha, but with one go-around and then a change of runway.... well it was an experience!

Thanks, I did multiple touch and go's but it would have been a little repetitive and the fact that Youtube will only take 15 minute videos unless you pay for more.
