Glad to see people are joining me in getting the Aerosim 787.

For repaints... Head to AVSIM and search Dan Dominik.

Hes been putting out paints at a much better resolution than the default textures.

It amazingly deceptive , many thought they were the size of a 767 200 , but same size as its 777-200s only due to the larger windows ... tricky trickstar them Boeing fellas

You had me 'til those interior passenger windows - look like 16 player poker tables. Is it technically impossible to model a curve? Some seem to do it much better than others.

They are about 6 ft longer than a 767-300 and 20 ft shorter than a 777-200.

Its those panoramic that will score the the points for us plane nutters .. guess little or no chance off getting in and chatting to the pilots on the long hauls these days .. unless i guess maybe a pre flight security check before boarding ? .

The windows arent the best for sure, however I do enjoy the window effects. The modeller has used a clever technique to dim them. From my perspective this is an ok interim pending the QW 787 next year and yes you definately want the HD textures from AVSIM, the default are not flash..

Jon ... Its your Stopgap , Obviously the HD textures changed the entire model , your original post , the screens made it look , well just brilliant

I think its ok for what you pay. The VC is nice to look at though not as functional as it could be, the externals are lovely IMO and yes the HD textures take it up a level. So worth a look if your a 787 fan. I didnt hesitate once I saw it and I'm not unhappy with it but I'm definately keeping 2 eyes on the QW development and yes, the Aerosim 787 will be put into storage once thats released.

I suppose it has enough eye candy to make it look nice but really an aircraft of this complexity needs a proper Flight management system. It is the essence of the whole aircraft and in fact any modern airliner.
To just have the LNAV follow the FSX flight plan generated and VNAV only good for calculating a T/C or T/D is really inadequate and disappointing IMHO.
Beats me why so much effort is put into the cabin area when resources could be better spent at the sharp end (FMS, and a fully functional VC).
Wing views fine but do we really need a cabin with untold seats and dimming windows hogging the frame rates?
Hopefully QW will address this area much better.
