Do you mean the new one being constructed to the north of the airport?? If so no, its still just a well groomed paddock!! ohmy.gif

laugh.gif never thought of a paddock like that , fact is , Mat it must be quiet the eye opener for you , literary ..you watched the Hamilton runway build , this would be very much a whole different kettle of fish , dig ,place and sure it can handle the weights , now what types are designed for this runway , domestic and or the heavies ?

There's no confirmed plan yet, which probably explains why there's not been much progress. I spoke with someone from AIAL a couple of weeks back about it, and he said that the general consensus is that the main users will be the domestic turboprop fleet. However for that to happen they will need to build a new domestic terminal and rescue fire station to service it. I suspect Hamilton will remain NZ's only airport with operational parallel sealed runways for quite some time!!

Cheer s Mat , guess lot happened over the last year , again wonder if a lesser decise push from other the money pushers , not so strange to see city areas appear to get the people movment push rather than pull .
