Did you ask , it would be interesting to find out how often they have been deployed on the Frigates , these Seasprites appear to spend more time land locked , were as from memory seldom did we see the Wasps .

Pass - although one of the seasprites taking part in the mountain flying at dip flat last month embarked straight onboard HMNZS Te Mana as it departed wellington at the end of that excercise.

I thought today , decide just to stop and watch some WWII Tiffie doco's and in mention was the start-up of the Napier-Sabre engines and just how explosive they were ... half dozen ground crew with extinguishers at hand simply due to the fire problem with the engine type ... little worried about the regular practice with RNZAF crews doing the same .. tongue.gif

The Seasprite Broke down - here's some pics of The AC Tech's fixing it - it departed approx 3 hrs later than scheduled approx 7pm in which case they had to cancel the water winch display & most of the handling display when it arrived.

Crewman as in video is checking that OIL is not spraying down the side of the heli.

can attest to the fact that these BEAST's give a damn sight more of a STATIC kick during vertreps. A whole lot more so that the old parafin parrots (wasps). It exited via my elbow and hurt like a b**** for days. the earthing pole operator (one of my PO's and a very good mate) got a hell of a "cheers mate" from me to which he replied "sorry bout that chief" ......... hence i started calling him Maxwell 'NOTSO" Smart
