This will never happen with flightsim addons -- for example, I would think that cutting the price in half might increase sales by a few percent, but it won't go anywhere near the 110% increase you'd need. The current price makes sense assuming a customer base of reasonably well-off worldwide simmers who are happy to buy anything from Orbx. I think that some locals are thinking that it would get very expensive very quickly -- FTX NZ plus 10 NZ airports would be over $500 -- but this isn't going to happen, we won't see anywhere near 10 NZ releases.Splitpin wrote:QUOTE (Splitpin @ Dec 26 2012,11:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Set aside economics , i was amazed by the amount of interest in NZ there is on the Orbx forum.
There are a few things which make NZ an ideal area for Orbx -- it's small, so you can have it all, without annoying edges, it's geographically interesting, and it is different enough to be exotic to the rest of the world. So as an Orbx region, it's bound to be popular. 'Airports' as such are not the attraction for most overseas customers, though, they are important only to locals. Orbx would look at areas which fit the image of NZ as an exotic location, Milford and Queenstown definitely fit the bill.
A lot of overseas folk are happy to see NZ as a big wilderness with the occasional dirt strip, heaps of local and regional airports don't fit that image, anyway.
