Kaikoura to Blenheim...

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby Fozzer » Mon Feb 25, 2013 12:19 am

Sean TK organised a Saturday 23rd Feb. NZ Multiplayer trip for 14:00 EST/7:00 PM GMT...

..and then didn't turn up...(as usual)... sad.gif ...so I completed the Tour on my own ...(as usual).. smile.gif ....with my trusty Beech Baron TC...(as usual)... cool.gif ...!

Simviation Server: 178.63.253.134

It was odd at Kaikoura in my FS 2004... ohmy.gif .... The local "mesh" showed me as being..underground!... blink.gif ...The rest of the scenery was OK!

Paul...FS 2004+FS Navigator..and Plan-G v2.0.5... notworthy.gif ...!

P.S....I can never get used to these "strange" NZ names of places...and their spellings... sad.gif ...!

Maori buddy in fact they now put huge emphasis on saying them correctly and because i am not over there at the moment i say them like the 1990s way of saying them. Te Anau said Te-Ar-Now back then dont know how to say it now.

When I am trying to find the various NZ locations in my Flight Sim, (unsuccessfully), by spelling them incorrectly...

..I often wish Captain Cook had popped around the Island(s) and given the various locations, all-British-sounding names... winkyy.gif ...!

During my flight plans, it gets real confusing trying to type-in the various stop-overs!... unsure.gif ...!

Christchurch, Plymouth, etc, I am OK with... laugh.gif ...!

No prob's with the Spanish-sounding names in the USA... cool.gif ...!

Paul.... biggrin.gif ...!

...mind you...I only have to travel 20 miles westwards from where I live in England, into Wales, and I experience the exact same spelling and pronunciation problems again!... sad.gif ...!

Hi Paul go to
http://www.aip.net.nz/NavWalk.aspx?section...+-+INTRODUCTION
and hit the INDEX TO AERODROMES AND HELIPORTS and you will get a download PDF full list of NZ airfields with their NZ codes to print out a big help when looking for airfields use the NZ code instead of the name IE; Kaikoura = NZKI Woodbourne = NZWB

Wonderful Tip, Doug!.... clapping.gif ...!

Saved the Site... thumbup1.gif ...!

Another good reason for using my FS Navigator with my FS 2004: Zoom-able World Maps showing Airfield names and ICAO designations, etc....

Paul.... cool.gif...!
