Yes agreed - I have no problem with budget airlines but if they treat people with no compassion then thats just rubbish'All things are possible to him that believes'

That's probably because budget airlines have silly little contractual clauses in the ticket purchase designed to save them money that the non-budgets either don't do or don't enforce with such gusto in order to save them money.

True , just book with the national carrier ....after all its only a few bucks.
Its all dollar driven..... these guys (budget airlines) pay peanuts and get monkeys working for them ..... compassion is an alien term.

That's the guts of it - the frontline booking staff are not employed to exercise initiative, they are there to follow a script, and have essentially no authority to make a decision which over-rules the ticketing computer.
So, yes, we can change your booking, but only if you put up another few hundred dollars, which we might refund if we think the story you told us was true...
Personally, I won't have a bar of JetStar...my IQ is over 85, and I am not a bogan, so I am not part of their target demographic and will not be welcome anyway.
Remember this yarn?
Let’s spare a thought for Michael O’Leary, Chief Executive of Ryanair.
Arriving in a hotel in Dublin , he went to the bar and asked for a pint of Guinness.
The barman nodded and said “that will be one Euro please, Mr. O’Leary†to which Michael replied “that’s a very competitive price†and handed over his money.
“Will you be wanting a glass with your Guinness, sir?†enquired the barman.
Cheers

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'
