For those that like a bit of history, old Wigram shots, Vampires etc.

RNZAF - The Eventful Years (1958)

A New Zealand Film Unit Production...This film marks the 21st anniversary of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and records its activities, past and present. It includes sequences of aerial warfare over Europe in World War II and of the R.N.Z.A.F. operating against the Japanese in the Pacific. A wide range of present-day activities is shown, from preliminary training in New Zealand and Fiji to supply dropping and combat sorties over the Malayan jungle. Courtesy Archives New Zealand.

Brilliant watch Barry , 1.1o seconds into it that is todays museum headquarters , the old officers mess just is now a pub and restaurant now surrounded by housing , as for the old gate it was still like that till they changed it the early 1970s ... think this has to be move to the historical old pinned thread .

Thanks for the link, makes me want to break out the Vampires in the sim and go fast-jetting!
Interesting spoken thought there, that by 1987 (50th Anniversary) aircraft might not require pilots...
