After finding two willing co-participants it was all on. We decided to fly a NZ route instead. Taking off from Queenstown to make a virtual run on Cyde Dam, Benmore Dam, Aviemore Dam and finally Waitaki Dam before landing at Oamaru.
We left just after dawn to fly above the Kawarau Gorge, via Lake Dunstan to Clyde where we acheived complete surprise. Turned NE over St Bathans, Omarama down the Ohau river to approach Benmore dam - once again a complete lack of opposition and so we continued down the Waitaki and on to our destination airport.
A great flight with plenty of fun and close escapes trying to take screen shots while low to the ground; below are just a few of the many shots I took. Hopefully Doug and Ian will be adding their own to the mix.....
